Last Saturday was the carnival, where Bjarke and I went with our pretty little costumes. :D
I started out by wanting to be Malificent, the evil queen from Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, but after a couple of days pondering, and buying the fabric, I thought otherwise.. I didn’t think it was cool enough, and her horns were a challenge I just didn’t want to take, since I only had little time in the end.
And unfortunately, the only day I really had time to sew, I had the worst headache, that tied me to the bed. :P But I made a skirt, a corset and a cape! :D And Bjarke did my Hat and Staff! He’s so awesome!
He went as a Lion. He made the costume last year, but did improvements on it this year. He added paws (AAAWWWWW!!!!!!!), and a new mane with ears! He’s just the cutest thing in his carnival costume!!! :D
Here are some pictures – mine were taken just before I had to go to work – so they’re a bit rushed and in our messy apartment. :P
Bjarkes pictures were taken today, because we didn’t bring camera to the Carnival. :P
And yes, I worked in the fabric store like that, hehe… It was fun – an people actually took me seriously, when they asked for advice – I didn’t think they would, hehe..
And I’ve cut some of my hair off – I have such a weird hair do at the moment, because of the side cut that is growing out – so I thought I might as well play around with my hair while it’s in this state. :P
With my cape and hat! :) The cape is made out of the same fabric as my short jacket, which I unfortunately have misplaced during the Carnival… ahem..
Oh well, it was kind of preppy, anyway, so I am off to a new jacket adventure soon… or in the fall – it’s getting pretty hot in the weather now.
I used Stargazers white foundation and added green eyeshadow to it. I got sort of a minty green complexion. :D It was fun! And we had a wonderful time!
Bjarke, the cutest Lion in the world!!!! :D With his very cute paws!
Look at them!!!! Aaaw!
“Raaawrr”, he says! <3
Wouldn’t you just love this lion?! He made the costume himself! I’m so happy that he also knows how to sew! It’s awesome!
Hehe – the costume is huge! And cuddly!
My beautiful happy Lion! <3
I just wanted to show you guys our costumes… I didn’t get a picture of the staff I ran around with – but it might be used another time. :P
On a completely other note – I am “closing down” the shop here at BeMyGoth.com before long, because I have bought the domain bemygothpatterns.com – so I am thinking of doing purely free stuff over here – and then have a patterns store on the side. :) I really really hope to be able to live off of it at the end of summer! Wish me luck!
The other site is still under construction. I’ll give word when everything is ready.
The neck corset, underbust corset, faux fireplace and Gothic lolita collar will be deleted, because they are starting to feel substandard to what I make today. I’ll be sure to make some new similar even better patterns to put in their place. :)
What do you think of that idea?
Have a wonderful weekend!
